Does God Want You To Be Rich?

This is a topic close to my heart. So many of us get it wrong and miss the point of money. At the end of the day... Money is like a screwdriver, hammer, saw... IT IS A TOOL... Let's look at what the Bible says. This is from 1 Timothy 6:10 from the Amplified Bible
For the love of money [that is, the greedy desire for it and the willingness to gain it unethically] is a root of all sorts of evil, and some by longing for it have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves [through and through] with many sorrows.
The one word that most people miss is.... THE LOVE OF MONEY... The love of money, gets us in trouble. When we love money more than our Lord, it is an issue. But.. PLOT TWIST... Here is ANOTHER verse concerning money... This time from Ecclesiastes 10:19
The officials make a feast for enjoyment [instead of repairing what is broken], and serve wine to make life merry, and money is the answer to everything.
Did you catch that last part? MONEY IS THE ANSWER TO EVERYTHING! If you are on this earth, you more than likely have bills. You probably have insurance of some kind. You likely have a family that you need to support... Your car needs gas and maintenance.. You need food to eat. You need clothing on your person. SO... YOU NEED MONEY! Now... To answer the question at hand... DOES GOD WANT ME TO BE RICH? That's up for debate. But I will give my opinion. The more money you have means the more impact you can have on the Kingdom. You will be a bigger tither and give more in offerings. You will be in a better position to pay for missions and other activities that will further the gospel. You will be able to provide for your family and have a better quality of life. God may not want you to be rich... BUT HE DOES NOT WANT YOU TO BE BROKE! Being broke is a choice. You have a purpose that can help you create opportunties for income. Read my blog post HERE on finding your purpose. So, one of the things you can do is to strive for a better quality of life on earth. And that involves money, which creates the time freedom. So, you can use money as a tool to have more of an impact for the Kingdom of God. Thank you for reading and hope this helps. God bless.

The Single Hardest Thing About Being A Christian

It's not easy walking the "narrow path." I fall off from that path more than I'd like to admit.  I don't know if you struggle like me, but the faith walk is full of ups and downs.  I'm going to share what I think is the most difficult thing about being a Christian.  THE MOST DIFFICULT THING ABOUT BEING A CHRISTIAN! WALKING IN FAITH  Walking in faith forces you to trust God.  Faith is the expectation that God is going to move on your behalf, even if you have no evidence.  Let's look at a famous example of Abraham and Sarah.  Abraham and Sarah were well beyond child-bearing years.  But God told them they would have a child.  This was not easy to understand.  Yet, we know that Abraham was called the "Father of Faith."   Abraham's real recourse was to trust God, despite the circumstances.  And even Abraham tried to bring God's will to fruition by using Sarah's maid, Hagar.  We look further in Genesis to see Abraham's fai...

Should You Question God?

Where are you, God?  I don't understand... Did I really hear from you, God?   I am sure you have asked these kinds of questions before. .  Honestly, there are times it seems there are more questions than answers.  This begs a bigger question.. SHOULD I QUESTION GOD?  This, in my opinion is two fold.  There is first the practical questions and then the matters of the heart.  First, we have a greater Word with us.  That word is the Bible.  According to 2 Timothy 3:16-17, the Bible helps answer our questions.  All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. 17God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work. This means that the Bible is going to answer our questions. When it comes to our daily lifestyle, the Bible is our teacher.   We have to fill ourselves with God's...

How Should Christians Pick A Job Or Career?

Sometimes, we can be deceived into thinking that God only cares about our "spiritual" walk.  But I am learning that couldn't be further from the truth.  Let's look at what God says in his word.  Here is 3 John 1:2 (NIV)  Dear friend, I pray that you may enjoy good health and that all may go well with you, even as your soul is getting along well.  Even though the Apostle John wrote this, I gather that God also cares about our souls, emotions, our daily lives, and all that concerns us.  I would even think that means our careers.  Most of us, especially as adults, spend the majority of our time working or fulfilling some kind of obligation in the role of an entrepreneur.      The truth is that most of us don't like our jobs.  Mainly, this stems from not being able to be ourselves, low pay, and a bad environment.  This is an issue, even for Christians.  But as Christians, we should have a different lens of looking at a c...
