Why Saying " Jesus Knows My Heart" Can Be Dangerous!

JESUS KNOWS MY HEART!
Yes, it is VERY true that Jesus knows our hearts. God knows everything about us, according to Luke 12: 7.
"And the very hairs on your head are numbered."
Yes, God knows EVERYTHING ABOUT US...even the dirty, dingy, nasty, pitiful parts of us. So, what is bad about "Jesus knows my heart." It is often said when we make excuses or compromise our godly principles. I took that money or lusted after that woman/man, or I fell short again. But Jesus knows my heart. I thought of this because I have said this and have my struggles. But taking advantage of God's grace is never a license to do wrong. When God and His Spirit convicts us, we need to make strides to be better. The good thing is you don't have to be a perfect Christian to do better. You just have to do better. We need to make it our business to not make concessions but to confess that we are in need of saving from our own selves. And if you feel sick to your stomach from constantly missing God's standard, Jesus has an answer. Let's read from 1 John 1:9. (NLT)
"But if we confess our sins to Him, He is faithful and just to forgive us and to cleanse us from all wickedness."
So, while saying "Jesus knows my heart" is dangerous, confessing our daily need for a saviour is not.

The Single Hardest Thing About Being A Christian

It's not easy walking the "narrow path." I fall off from that path more than I'd like to admit.  I don't know if you struggle like me, but the faith walk is full of ups and downs.  I'm going to share what I think is the most difficult thing about being a Christian.  THE MOST DIFFICULT THING ABOUT BEING A CHRISTIAN! WALKING IN FAITH  Walking in faith forces you to trust God.  Faith is the expectation that God is going to move on your behalf, even if you have no evidence.  Let's look at a famous example of Abraham and Sarah.  Abraham and Sarah were well beyond child-bearing years.  But God told them they would have a child.  This was not easy to understand.  Yet, we know that Abraham was called the "Father of Faith."   Abraham's real recourse was to trust God, despite the circumstances.  And even Abraham tried to bring God's will to fruition by using Sarah's maid, Hagar.  We look further in Genesis to see Abraham's fai...

Should You Question God?

Where are you, God?  I don't understand... Did I really hear from you, God?   I am sure you have asked these kinds of questions before. .  Honestly, there are times it seems there are more questions than answers.  This begs a bigger question.. SHOULD I QUESTION GOD?  This, in my opinion is two fold.  There is first the practical questions and then the matters of the heart.  First, we have a greater Word with us.  That word is the Bible.  According to 2 Timothy 3:16-17, the Bible helps answer our questions.  All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. 17God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work. This means that the Bible is going to answer our questions. When it comes to our daily lifestyle, the Bible is our teacher.   We have to fill ourselves with God's...

How Should Christians Pick A Job Or Career?

Sometimes, we can be deceived into thinking that God only cares about our "spiritual" walk.  But I am learning that couldn't be further from the truth.  Let's look at what God says in his word.  Here is 3 John 1:2 (NIV)  Dear friend, I pray that you may enjoy good health and that all may go well with you, even as your soul is getting along well.  Even though the Apostle John wrote this, I gather that God also cares about our souls, emotions, our daily lives, and all that concerns us.  I would even think that means our careers.  Most of us, especially as adults, spend the majority of our time working or fulfilling some kind of obligation in the role of an entrepreneur.      The truth is that most of us don't like our jobs.  Mainly, this stems from not being able to be ourselves, low pay, and a bad environment.  This is an issue, even for Christians.  But as Christians, we should have a different lens of looking at a c...
