No matter where you look, our world is changing.
That change is not for the better (for the most part).
It is more important than ever to have something to fall back.
You have to believe in SOMETHING and know what you believe in it.
Knowing why you believe what you believe is VERY important for Christians.
Your pastor or bible teacher may be a wonderful God-fearing person.
But it is up to us individually to know what we believe.
You have to know the Bible for yourself.
So, I want to share with you 3 beliefs that every Christian should have.
These are 3 non-negotiable facts about the Christian faith.
This is from my perspective, but I do have Biblical text to back up my reasoning.
Here is the list of 3.
1) ALL MEN ARE SINNERS
The truth is we are all born into sin.
None of us are born into perfection.
No amount of good works can pay for our sin nature.
Romans 3: 23 (NIV) states this...
For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.This means even on our best "moral" day, we still come short of the standard of a Holy God. 2) Salvation is a gift from God. We are saved, not by works, but by grace through faith. It is not by works that we get into heaven. Ephesians 2:8-9 (NIV) states...
For it is by grace you have been saved, through the faith - and this is not from yourself, it is the gift of God - not by works so that no one can boast. This is not to say that you shouldn't do good works. You should strive to do good works. The point is that the fruit of our salvation is good works, not the reason for our salvation. 3) Jesus Is The Way, The Truth, And The Life. It is through Adam where sin entered into the world. And it is by Jesus that the world can be redeemed. Experiencing the redemptive power of Jesus allows us to enter into fellowship with the Father. Through Jesus, we have the chance to reach for the type of intimacy that Adam and Eve shared with God before eating of the tree. In John 14:6, we see that Jesus says....
Jesus answered, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes through the Father, except through me.Jesus paid for our sins so that we can be in fellowship with God the Father. Of course there are more beliefs of the Christian faith. But I think these three are a good basis to help anyone understand what Christianity is all about. I hope this helps you and blesses your spirit. God bless and keep you.
