God Wants You To Prosper!

God Cares About You!

God cares for you.

Not just your church attendance or offering in the collection plate.

God cares for you.

His love for us placed His son on the cross to die so that we can have abundant life.

"The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full."

Those are Jesus' word from John 10:10. (NIV)

We see that Jesus wants us to have an abundant life here on earth and heaven.

To confirm this even more, let's look at 3 John 2. (NIV)

"Dear friend, I pray that you may enjoy good health and that all may go well with you, even as your soul is getting along well."

While the Apostle John wrote to a specific group of believers, I feel as if we can take this passage as the way that God feels about us.

My key take away from 3 John 2 is ALL

That ALL may go well.

The good thing about this, in my opinion, is that ALL means ALL.

What does that mean?

It means for me that I should be an amazing Christian on Sunday, only to be living a defeated life on Sunday evening.

When God wants all of me to prosper, He means everything from my wealth, health, and everything that concerns me.

BUT...

Is God Wanting Me To Prosper "Conditional?"

From my vantage point, the answer is yes and no.

Let me explain.

The reason I say no is due to Matthew 5:45. (NIV)

"that you may be children of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous."

This, from my vantage point, means that all of us will experience times of feast and times of famine, no matter our spiritual status.

In plain terms, "life" will happen to us all, saved or unsaved.

But I say yes because of Matthew 6:33. (NKJV)

Of course, this is a famous verse that tells Christians to seek the kingdom of God first.

"But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things shall be added to you."

When we as Christians seek out God's kingdom and righteousness first, everything that we need to live this natural life will be provided unto us.

God's promise is to provide our natural needs for this life whenever we focus on His kingdom.

Conclusion

The point is that God wants us to prosper.

Not just during Sunday service but during the line at the grocery store and the commute to work.

What does "prosper" mean?

Per a Google search, it means to succeed in an activity.

God wants us to succeed, first in giving our lives to Him, seeking His kingdom first, and living in purpose.

So, let us examine our hearts to make sure that we are cleaning our hearts so that we can prosper.

The Single Hardest Thing About Being A Christian

It's not easy walking the "narrow path." I fall off from that path more than I'd like to admit.  I don't know if you struggle like me, but the faith walk is full of ups and downs.  I'm going to share what I think is the most difficult thing about being a Christian.  THE MOST DIFFICULT THING ABOUT BEING A CHRISTIAN! WALKING IN FAITH  Walking in faith forces you to trust God.  Faith is the expectation that God is going to move on your behalf, even if you have no evidence.  Let's look at a famous example of Abraham and Sarah.  Abraham and Sarah were well beyond child-bearing years.  But God told them they would have a child.  This was not easy to understand.  Yet, we know that Abraham was called the "Father of Faith."   Abraham's real recourse was to trust God, despite the circumstances.  And even Abraham tried to bring God's will to fruition by using Sarah's maid, Hagar.  We look further in Genesis to see Abraham's fai...

Should You Question God?

Where are you, God?  I don't understand... Did I really hear from you, God?   I am sure you have asked these kinds of questions before. .  Honestly, there are times it seems there are more questions than answers.  This begs a bigger question.. SHOULD I QUESTION GOD?  This, in my opinion is two fold.  There is first the practical questions and then the matters of the heart.  First, we have a greater Word with us.  That word is the Bible.  According to 2 Timothy 3:16-17, the Bible helps answer our questions.  All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. 17God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work. This means that the Bible is going to answer our questions. When it comes to our daily lifestyle, the Bible is our teacher.   We have to fill ourselves with God's...

How Should Christians Pick A Job Or Career?

Sometimes, we can be deceived into thinking that God only cares about our "spiritual" walk.  But I am learning that couldn't be further from the truth.  Let's look at what God says in his word.  Here is 3 John 1:2 (NIV)  Dear friend, I pray that you may enjoy good health and that all may go well with you, even as your soul is getting along well.  Even though the Apostle John wrote this, I gather that God also cares about our souls, emotions, our daily lives, and all that concerns us.  I would even think that means our careers.  Most of us, especially as adults, spend the majority of our time working or fulfilling some kind of obligation in the role of an entrepreneur.      The truth is that most of us don't like our jobs.  Mainly, this stems from not being able to be ourselves, low pay, and a bad environment.  This is an issue, even for Christians.  But as Christians, we should have a different lens of looking at a c...
