What Does Real Evangelism Look Like In 2025?

Called To Create Disciples

As Christians, we are all called to make disciples.

I admit that I have fallen short in that goal.

The truth is that I am selfish.

I'm selfish at times to the point where I don't even share my faith.

Maybe you are like me too.

The question I ask is "What does evangelism look like today?"

What does reaching the lost look like in our A.I., social media, transgender, politically charged, truth is relative, hate infested society?

Below I will share some of my thoughts.

What does real evangelism look like in 2025?

Sharing Christ with others can be a challenge in this day and age.

But we always have to start with LOVE

Love allows us to look past the faults of people and see a person in need of Christ.

When we lead with love, we will be able to convey that we are all sinners in need of Christ's saving grace.

Real evangelism has to go beyond CHURCH

The community church provides is important.

It is important to be empowered by other people in the church.

But church attendance alone is not evangelism.

One of the main issues with Western Christianity (in my opinion) is that church attendance equals a genuine relationship with Christ.

We are called to BE the church, not just attend church.

We should extend our faith into our workplace, places of business, while shopping, at school, everywhere we can.

Just inviting people to church is NOT evangelism.

Most of us are lazy and just want to invite people to church, praying that they feel that goosebumps during the altar call.

We have to be salt and light outside of the four walls of the church.

Remember, you may be the only Jesus that some folks will EVER see.

And they may never come to your church.

Real evangelism looks like UNDERSTANDING THE CULTURE

The early disciples used the Greek culture to their advantage to spread the gospel.

We should do the same thing.

We do this by being able to meet people where they are, like social media.

Christians needs to be more diligent in understanding tools like social media, YouTube, and artificial intelligence.

The more we understand the ways of the culture means that we are able to connect with people in a more sincere way.

We need to be aware of what people are fighting against spiritually and meet them there.

Lastly, real evangelism looks like sharing your story with people.

ALL OF US have a story.

Your story may not be as dire or colorful as mine.

But all of us have a story of God's goodness and love in our lives.

We can't speak to people from a mountaintop, like we have never sinned or fallen short in life.

God has delivered us from our bad habits, hidden sins, and selfish ways.

And He is STILL DELIVERING US!

We need to share our stories; the good, bad, and the ugly.

CONCLUSION

Our ultimate goal of our lives is the Great Commission.

We are called to create disciples.

  • Not churchgoers.
  • Not people without tattoos.
  • Not only people who only wear ankle low dresses.
  • Not people WE THINK would make good Christians.
God's love and saving grace is available for ALL

So, let's make that effort to share our testimonies and reach the lost.

Let us pray to do God's work.

This means whether we are in business, in the mall, playing video games, at the job, watching football, or getting your nails done, you can use that opportunity to evangelize.

Use your gifts, talents, and strengths to draw people in.

God can use us, even if we are not eloquent, a preacher, or a gospel singer.

We just have to be willing to share the love of Christ with others.

God bless you and thank you for reading this post.

The Single Hardest Thing About Being A Christian

It's not easy walking the "narrow path." I fall off from that path more than I'd like to admit.  I don't know if you struggle like me, but the faith walk is full of ups and downs.  I'm going to share what I think is the most difficult thing about being a Christian.  THE MOST DIFFICULT THING ABOUT BEING A CHRISTIAN! WALKING IN FAITH  Walking in faith forces you to trust God.  Faith is the expectation that God is going to move on your behalf, even if you have no evidence.  Let's look at a famous example of Abraham and Sarah.  Abraham and Sarah were well beyond child-bearing years.  But God told them they would have a child.  This was not easy to understand.  Yet, we know that Abraham was called the "Father of Faith."   Abraham's real recourse was to trust God, despite the circumstances.  And even Abraham tried to bring God's will to fruition by using Sarah's maid, Hagar.  We look further in Genesis to see Abraham's fai...

Should You Question God?

Where are you, God?  I don't understand... Did I really hear from you, God?   I am sure you have asked these kinds of questions before. .  Honestly, there are times it seems there are more questions than answers.  This begs a bigger question.. SHOULD I QUESTION GOD?  This, in my opinion is two fold.  There is first the practical questions and then the matters of the heart.  First, we have a greater Word with us.  That word is the Bible.  According to 2 Timothy 3:16-17, the Bible helps answer our questions.  All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. 17God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work. This means that the Bible is going to answer our questions. When it comes to our daily lifestyle, the Bible is our teacher.   We have to fill ourselves with God's...

How Should Christians Pick A Job Or Career?

Sometimes, we can be deceived into thinking that God only cares about our "spiritual" walk.  But I am learning that couldn't be further from the truth.  Let's look at what God says in his word.  Here is 3 John 1:2 (NIV)  Dear friend, I pray that you may enjoy good health and that all may go well with you, even as your soul is getting along well.  Even though the Apostle John wrote this, I gather that God also cares about our souls, emotions, our daily lives, and all that concerns us.  I would even think that means our careers.  Most of us, especially as adults, spend the majority of our time working or fulfilling some kind of obligation in the role of an entrepreneur.      The truth is that most of us don't like our jobs.  Mainly, this stems from not being able to be ourselves, low pay, and a bad environment.  This is an issue, even for Christians.  But as Christians, we should have a different lens of looking at a c...
